If you have been involved in the web hosting world in any capacity, you have most likely heard of WHMCS, including its recent price increases.

"WHMCS was created with the aim of being a one-stop solution, offering client management, recurring billing, and integrated support tools in a single centralized platform that made everyday tasks quicker, easier, and more efficient.

Today we are the platform of choice for web hosting automation, with a wide range of integrations included as standard including integrations with all the leading web hosting control panels, domain registrars, and cloud service providers along with a feature-rich core platform that provides web hosting businesses with the tools they need to be successful."

WHMCS, About Us

With these price increases, some other changes have also taken effect in their service structure. WHMCS no longer offers lifetime licenses. In addition, the software now appears to be unbranded by default, whereas before you had to pay extra for a "white-label" version.

These changes won't affect WHMCS's largest users much, but smaller web hosting startups can feel the pain of the additional fees. In the current climate of the pandemic, people are cutting back on expenses, and web hosting is one of them.

Many people on community message boards are showing frustration with the recent changes, and some even mention migrating to other software.

You can read more about these changes and the CEO's responses on the WHMCS blog.
